梅西耶 59（也称为M59或NGC 4621）是一个位于室女座的w:椭圆星系.
历史
梅西耶 59 和附近的椭圆星系w:梅西耶 60 都由w:约翰·戈特弗里德·科勒在四月w:1779年观测同一片天空中的w:彗星时发现。[4] w:查尔斯·梅西耶在科勒发现后三天左右将其列入了w:梅西耶天体目录。[4]
室女座星系团成员
M59 是w:室女座星系团的成员。
